New Music Friday: Robyn, Charli XCX and More!

by Nathan Corrál

We are another week closer to the end of 2025. This New Music Friday, we were blessed with releases from some of the biggest names in music. Our beloved Robyn is back with a brand new single. Charli XCX has released her first original music since BRAT. We also have some new tunes from Ellie Goulding, Miley Cyrus and more! Check them out below!

“Dopamine” Robyn

After nearly seven years, Robyn is back with a brand new single. “Dopamine” brings out Robyn’s signature synth/pop dance style that we know and love her for. The track features subtle rave and house influences. Lyrically, Robyn strikes our heart strings with her heartfelt, personal lyrics that will have you crying on the dancefloor. While the singer has not confirmed a new album is coming, fans can only hope that “Dopamine” is the first taste of a new project to come next year.

“Chains of Love” Charli XCX

Ever since Charli XCX’s monumental success with BRAT, the star is back with new music and a new album. This week, the singer released two songs “House” featuring John Cale and “Chains of Love.” Her new album Wuthering Heights is tied to the film adaptation of Emerald Fennell’s novel. Both songs are equally as haunting and chilling. Sonically, XCX goes down a gothic route with dramatic electronic production while also incorporating strings. The tracks are cinematic and perfect for the film that will be out next year along with the album.

“Destiny” Ellie Goulding

One of pop music’s most precious gems, Ellie Goulding, has released a brand new single.”Destiny” is the singer’s first solo release since her 2023 album Higher Than Heaven. Goulding is known for her energetic, electro pop. On “Destiny,” she slows things down, getting utterly lost in her feelings. No one has a voice quite like Goudling, and her ethereal vocals layered over the lush production takes listeners to a whole other world. Lyrically, she liberates herself in her sexuality and fully surrenders. This isn’t a new side to the singer, but it’s some of the most vulnerable work she’s given us, and we are here for it.

“Dream As One” Miley Cyrus

Part of the soundtrack for Avatar: Fire and Ash, Miley Cyrus has released an original song for the film. “Dream As One” is a hopeful song about love, unity and resilience.  While the song was written for a film, this can fit perfectly into Cyrus’ catalog. Sinically, the singer channels psychedelic, classic rock. Her voice is suited perfectly for this style of music.

everything is a lot. Wale

Today, Rapper Wale released his eight studio album, everything is a lot. The title reflects Wale’s feeling of the current climate of the world ranging from his personal life to the music industry. Lyrically, it’s poetic, straight from the pages of a journal. The album features soulful samples, blues and global elements. Wale brought in notable collaborators including Leon Thomas, Andra Day, Ty Dolla $ign, Shaboozey and more. everything is a lot. Is the kind of album you will want to play from start to finish to truly hear the incredible story Wale is telling.

This New Music Friday was one for the books! See you next time!
