Hayley Williams Announces First Solo Tour

by Nathan Corrál

In case you missed it, last week, Paramore’s front woman, Hayley Williams, announced her first solo headlining tour. This technically wasn’t the singer’s first announcement of a solar tour. Back in 2020, shortly after William’s released her debut, solo album Petals for Armor, she was scheduled to go on tour. The tour was ultimately canceled due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Nearly five years later and three solo albums under her belt, Williams is ready to hit the road all on her own.

New Era Unlocked

Back in August, Hayley Williams put on one of the most clever album rollouts the music industry has seen in a while. One day, the singer’s entire website changed. Fans needed a password to access seventeen brand new songs. These songs were live on her website for a short period of time, and then they disappeared. Shortly after, the singer released all seventeen tracks individually on streaming. This wasn’t an album, just a collection of singles that sent fans into a frenzy.

Online, fans took to social media to put together what they thought was the right tracklist for the unnamed album. Even Zane Lowe presented her what he thought the correct order of the songs was when he had her on his show. After countless mock tracklists, the star announced her new album, Ego Death At A Bachelor Party. On her third album, Williams dives head first into an alt rock sound. It’s grungy and gritty. Thematically, the singer explores grief — personal and romantic. It’s everything we love about Williams’ songwriting, but it shows fans an even deeper side to her. With the announcement came an additional three songs. One in particular started more speculation about the current status of Paramore.

A while back Williams and guitarist Taylor York began dating. The lyrics of “Parachute,” one of the bonus songs, caused fans to worry that Paramore was over. This track’s honest lyrics cut right to the core. William’s holds nothing back, not only on this song, but the entire album.

What About Paramore?

If you’re wondering, “is this the end of Paramore?” Trust me, as a Paramore fan, I am too. Rest assured that Paramore isn’t going anywhere. In a recent interview, Williams was asked if she would work in any Paramore songs into the setlist for her solo tour. She said no, emphasizing how sacred Paramore is. Williams assured that Paramore will have more shows, so she will be focusing on her solo material.

All three of William’s solo albums firmly stand on their own. Each project dives into several genres and sounds showcasing the singer’s immense talent. We all know how killer of a performer Williams is during a Paramore show. We are all excited to see her blossom on her first solo tour starting next year.

The tour is completely sold out. It sold out within minutes. Williams even added additional dates in some cities. Everyone is anticipating how major of a tour this is going to be!
