English singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri took to social media this week to announce her second studio album. The news also came with the project’s lead single “One song away from crying.” Since her first album in 2024, What A Devastating Turn of Events, the singer’s fan base has continually grown. Now it’s time for fans to hear what’s next.
I think I spoke too soon
I think i spoke too soon is the second studio album from Rachel Chinouriri out on October 16th. When the singer took to social media to make the announcement, she left fans with a heartfelt message. Her songwriting has always been extremely vulnerable, and this project will show fans a deeper side. Chinouriri notes that I think i spoke too soon is an account from ages twenty-two to twenty-seven. It details her journey with sobriety, femininity, her relationships and more.
Sonically, this project is said to explore broader sounds outside of the alternative style on her debut. I think i spoke too soon will feature a more polished pop production. Boy Genius member, Lucy Dacus, is rumored to be a collaborator on this project alongside Mary Weitz, Eli Teplin and more. In between album cycles, Chinouriri has taken the stage at major festivals, embarked on a headline tour and opened up for Sabrina Carpenter on the Short n Sweet tour. All of this built up the singer’s fanbase ready for a brand new era of music.
One song away from crying
“One song away from crying” kicks off the singer’s brand new era. The synth driven song is up beat and groovy. This track was made with the dancefloor in mind. Sonically, Chinouriri leans into a dreamier, electric sound than her previous work.
Lyrically, the songwriter continues to be utterly relatable. She sings about leaving all her feelings on the dance floor. She looks great but she’s never felt worse, so she flocks to the dance floor attempting to shut all the noise out.

Coming To A City Near You
Although the year is rapidly coming to a close, Chinouriri has a jam packed year full of tour dates. The album announcement also came with the news of a headlining tour in support of I think i spoke too soon. Starting in August, fans can see Rachel in various cities in North America, the UK, Europe and Australia. Chinouriri will also be opening for Gracie Abraham’s on a handful of dates on The Look at My Life Tour. She will also be performing at Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival on August 29th. The tour is starting soon so make sure to grab tickets and catch a show.
