HOW THEY GOT THEIR START
Phony Ppl started with their several jam sessions back in their youth. I think what makes them stand out so much is that there is no single genre you could categorize their music with. Some suggest R&B, jazz, rap, hip hop, reggae and so much more. Their debut album Yesterday’s Tomorrow (2015) is a must listen too. The critically acclaimed record has a wide range of sounds that truly encompasses Phony Ppl’s overall taste.
THE BREAKTHROUGH
Phony Ppl released their debut album in 2015 but had been working together for much longer. Eventually the band really pushed into the scene with their duet with Megan Thee Stallion in 2020 entitled “Fkn Around” that made fans go crazy.
The second song that also helped them gain a lot of traction in the Hip Hop world is their single “On My Shit” ft. Joey Bada$$.

This past fall Phony Ppl released their latest album Euphonyus and you MUST check it out. Each song is so extremely unique and thoughtful. Their classical training and musicianship shines through incredibly. Who could not love Elbee Thrie’s, the lead singer’s, smooth and rich voice.
