Friday has brought a handful of brand new tunes from some of music’s hottest artists. This week, our staff has meticulously selected our favorite songs. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
“Relationships” by HAIM
The HAIM sisters have made their long awaited return with their brand new single “Relationships.” The trio took to social media telling fans that this song took them seven years to make. Lead singer Danielle sings about a thought everyone has had at least once in their life: “Why am I in this relationship?” Sonically, the song fuses an early 2000s beat with alternative pop synths. It would not be a HAIM song without older sister Este’s groovy bass line that lurks throughout the track. “Relationships” is the first taste of what fans hope to be followed by a brand new HAIM album.
“safeandsound” by Parcels
Australian electro-pop band Parcels have released a brand new tune “safeandsound.” The release comes in anticipation of their 2025 Coachella performance. The five piece, known for their funky sound, slowed things down and channeled a classic rock sound. It is reminiscent of Oasis or even Semi Sonic’s “Closing Time.” The harmonies give the tune an anthem rock sound accompanied by an electrifying synth that closes out the track. It truly stands out in the discography of Parcel’s, but it is easy to groove. The band showcased a side that fans do not see too often, but it came together so effortlessly – So, we had to include it in this week’s picks for new music Friday.
“Ache” by Sasha Rome & Cortese
Brooklyn based Sasha Rome has teamed up with UK duo Cortese for a brand new tune “Ache.” Rome’s signature garage and UK-inspired sound shines on this track. The airy synths fuse perfectly with the breakbeat rhythm. The track is very trance-influenced, which is where Cortese comes in making it a one of a kind collaboration.
“The Giver” by Chappell Roan
Best new artist winner, Chappell Roan has gone country on her brand new single “The Giver.” The singer debuted the song live on SNL a few months ago, and now fans can finally stream it. It is a brand new sound for Roan that she explores making it her own. It’s fresh, while also paying homage to traditional country tunes. Roan truly knows how to, “Get the job done” no matter what style or genre of music she makes.
“DUMB” REMIX by Noga Erez ft. V1V1D
Musician and producer Noga Erez has teamed up with V1V1D to bring a remixed version of her track “DUMB.” Chicago Land native V1V1D spices up the hip hop infused track giving it a brand new verse that goes extremely hard. If you liked the original version, then you will love the remix.
“thasit” by TF Marz
Denver based TF Marz has dropped a fresh new track “thasit.” Marz’s brand new track is a perfect blend of rap and hip hop. The vocals are slick and smooth meshing perfectly with the killer trap beat produced by Marz.
