This week, Sabrina Carpenter gave fans the remainder of her 2025 Man’s Best Friend. “Such A Funny Way” is a bonus song to the critically acclaimed record. Carpenter took to social media to reflect on the amazing year she’s had. The singer confirmed that there is no deluxe version of Man’s Best Friend, but “Such A Funny Way” is the perfect way to close out the album rollout. “Such A Funny Way” is a tearjerker. Lyrically, Carpenter lays it out all for listeners. It’s Sabrina’s classic balance between emotional honesty and playful sarcasm. Sonically, the production is soft, elevating everything she is singing. Halfway through listening, the song builds and bursts into something even more beautiful. This was the perfect track to close out the year.
“What You Saying” Lil Uzi Vert
Next on our list is Lil Uzi Vert’s new song “What You Saying.” From the moment you press play, the strings and bubbly production grab your attention. Shortly after, Uzi’s impeccable bars came in. The vibes Uzi curates on “What You Saying” are immaculate and contagious. The track’s energy is infectious. The trap inspired beat has a bouncy feel that perfectly meshes a heavy bassline and hi-hats. This is definitely my favorite release from Lil Uzi Vert this year.
“pillow” bby
Today, lo-fi, indie band bby released another gem in the collection of their stellar discography. “pillow” is a soft and dreamy tune bound to transport you to another world. The song focuses on comfort and closeness through the metaphor of a pillow. bby has become known for their intimate, romantic lyrics. Sonically, the production remains minimal yet extremely captivating from start to finish.
“dopamina”Peso Pluma & Tito Double P
Closing out the last New Music Friday of the year is Peso Pluma and Tito Double P’s collab “dopamina.” This song brings together Peso Pluma’s modern corridos style with Tito Double P’s laid-back but confident delivery. It’s catchy and introspective. Thematically, “dopamina” is about addiction and pleasure. It explores how the amazing feeling of certain thrills can keep us catching the same rush. Sonically, the track features a modern corridos tumbados influence with clean guitars. The track is downtempo with an energy that captivates your attention.
