June is finally here and the seasons are changing. A new season means new sounds to soundtrack the sunny days and warm nights. This week is fresh with releases from Sabrina Carpenter, Chris Lake and more!
“Man Child” by Sabrina Carpenter
“Man Child” marks Sarbina Carpenter’s first release since her critically acclaimed album Short N Sweet. Sonically, Carpenter fuses synth pop with country pop accompanied by folky guitars. Lyrically she pokes fun at previous lovers who acted like immature, man children. Carpenter’s lyrics have always possessed a sense of humor and wit. Sonically and lyrically, “Man Child” sounds like a sister song to her hit “Please Please Please.” Carpenter also released an accompanying music video along with the song.
“Savana” by Chris Lake
DJ and Producer Chris Lake is heating up the summer with his new single “Savana.” This is the third single from his upcoming debut album Chemistry coming out next month. The dynamic house track features the producer’s signature style of blending melodies with high energy basslines. The female vocal in the track is catchy and easy to sing along to. This track fits perfectly into your summer rotation. As Lake describes the song, it’s perfect for a festival but also a track to turn up on the car radio.
Addison by Addison Rae
New Music Friday these past few weeks have almost felt incomplete without including Addison Rae. Well, the day has finally arrived. Her self titled, debut album is here, and boy was it worth the wait. After five remarkable singles, we can now listen to the full body of work. Addison is a pop record pulling elements and influences from hyperpop, electronic, alternative and so much more. Rae truly outdid herself, and has turned a lot of heads as she grows into the pop star she was born to be. This is a record that deserves everyone’s attention.
“Dior” by MK and Chrystal
MK and Chrystal have joined forces to bring our ears an absolute banger. “Dior” is a house anthem with a groovy bassline and garage beat. The gleamy synths ring along with Chrystal’s soft vocals. Previously, “Dior” made appearances in MK’s sets around the world building excitement and anticipation for the track’s release. This one is guaranteed to have listeners moving and grooving no matter where they are.
