Why is it called The Grants?

The track is a reference to her last name, Grant. The song itself is a reflection on her family, the ones both dead and alive. She opens the track with an intimate moment of her family singing the song, with a mistake in the middle. She mentions different family members specifically such as her sister, and grandmother. The songs lyrics show her promising her loved ones she will protect them, no matter the circumstance.

So many mountains too high to climb/So many rivers so long, but i’m/Doin’ the hard stuff, I’m doin’ my time/I’m Doin’ it for us, for our family line

What can we expect from the forthcoming record?

Besides “The Grants”, she also dropped “A&W”. A ballad with a surprise trap beat ending, that immediately started trending on TikTok. The title track “Did you know there’s a tunnel under Ocean Boulevard”, serves as a reflection on her career and her longing to be remembered. Each song features distinct Lana Del Rey signatures like lush harmonies and poetic lyrics.

Lana is an undeniably a powerful solo artist, however there are plenty of exciting features on this album to look forward to. With a guest list with Father John Misty, Tommy Genesis, and Bleachers, this hints that this may be a different style record. “A&W” is also further proof that Lana is exploring new territories, and we love that for her!
