Ellie Goulding Announces New Album

by Nathan Corrál

Global superstar Ellie Goulding has announced her sixth studio album I Know Too Much. This marks the singer’s first full release since her 2023 Higher Than Heaven. Fans are eager for Ellie’s return to music.

It’s Been Too Long

A substantial amount of time has passed since Goulding’s last album Higher Than Heaven. This project was met with rave reviews. It blended her signature alternative pop, electronic sound with some of her most personal song writing to date. The record features her collaborations with Big Sean on “Easy Lover” and “All by Myself” with Alok and Sigale.” Since Goulding’s debut in the early 2000s, she’s made a name for herself creating a sound unlike any other artist out there. She’s received Grammy nominations and played major festivals across the world.

Over the past few years, the singer has been a bit quiet. She recently welcomed her second child. In 2024, she released “Free” with her long time collaborator Clavin Harris. In 2025, the singer teamed up with Anyma for their critically acclaimed single “Hypnotized.”

At the end of 2025 Goulding released her first original song in almost three years. “Destiny” showcased a slower and dreamier side to the singer we don’t see too often. The track’s atmospheric production blends bedroom pop with an alternative guitar riff. Goulding’s vocals are soft yet raspy. Her voice is unique and almost impossible to not recognize. Lyrically, the song is extremely personal. It’s the first release since Goulding’s divorce. She sings about reclaiming her control and accepting her fate.

After “Destiny,” no news of a new album followed. Many fans speculated the start of a new era, but after a few months it seemed to serve as a stand alone single. Well, the wait is over because Goulding officially announced her sixth studio album.

I Know Too Much

I Know Too Much will be released on September 4th. The album’s lead single “Black Prada Dress” will drop this Friday. You can find snippets hidden throughout the singer’s social media. From the snippets, the song sounds anthemic and high energy. One of the lyrics goes “Only you can call me trashy in my black Prada dress.” Goulding debuted the single during BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend while playing the Main Stage.

Goulding hasn’t given too much detail into what fans can expect from this new project. In recent press, she’s described the project as a personal journal. I Know Too Much marks the singer’s first release since her divorce so the majority of the project recalls loss, healing and finding love again. A tracklist has yet to be revealed, but we do know the project will feature ten brand new songs.

In addition to a brand new album, it’s been a few years since Goulding embarked on her last tour. She went on a mini tour in the UK in support of Higher Than Heaven but hasn’t been on a world tour in a handful of years. Fans are hoping that a tour announcement will follow the news of the new album.
