Happy New Music Friday! The holiday season is in full swing, and we can’t help but feel lucky with all the early gifts each New Music Friday brings to our ears. This week, we picked out a little bit of everything for our lovely readers. We have tunes from Becky G, Mumford & Sons, Gorillaz and more! We hope you enjoy!
“Hablamos Mañana” Becky G
Get ready to dance because Becky G brings all the heat and rhythm on “Hablamos Mañana.” On this dance floor ready track, Becky G gives listeners a playful upbeat Latin track with reggaetón and electronic elements. This is the perfect song to dance the night away to or blast while you’re driving with the windows down and wind in your hair.
“Prizefighter” Mumford & Sons
Beloved folk rock group, Mumford & Sons, are back with a brand new single. “Prizefighter” is the title track of their upcoming album out February 13th. The band took to social media letting fans know that this record is the best music they’ve ever made. They had the help of the incredibly talented Aaron Desser on this project. Sonically, the song is intimate and warm with soft, acoustic instrumentation. The band really wants you to hear what they have to say lyrically. We are so excited for the rest of the album!
“Damascus” Gorillaz, Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey
Next, we bring you a stacked collaboration by Gorillaz, Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey. “Damasuc” will be featured on Gorillaz’s ninth studio album Mountain out on February 27th. The single blends trip-hop, electronic and Arabic-influenced sounds. The song is different, atmospheric. The unique soundscape is in a lane of its own making new waves in the Gorillaz impressive catalog.
“I Luv U” Fred…again, Wallface
In case you haven’t noticed, Fred…again, has been on a roll these past few New Music Fridays. On “I Luv U,” Fred…again teams up with Wallface for a killer new track. This track has been previewed in a handful of Fred…again’s sets in the midst of his “USB” era. Today, fans can finally play the track over and over again. Sonically listeners enter a techno-infused dance realm. All of Fred’s recent releases have been pushing underground energy that fans can’t get enough of. We are so here for it.
“95” Yumi Zouma
Coming in next is a bedroom pop gem by Yumi Zouma. “95” perfectly displays Yumi Zouma’s lush, bedroom pop style production. The track is soft and dreamy with the ambient synths and crushed guitars. Lyrically, this one is a tear jerker exploring ambition vs. reality. Trust us when we say “95” will get you in your feelings just after one listen.
“holdsomeone” Blue Hawaii
Indie dance duo, Blue Hawaii are closing out this week’s New Music Friday with their brand new single “holdsome.” This club heavy track was made for the dancefloor. It’s hypnotic and alluring from the moment you hit play. I’ve had my eyes on Blue Hawaii for the past year or so, and I’m so excited to see what they do in 2026!
