We’re so excited to be back for week 6 of WWLTW, bringing you the tracks we can’t get out of our heads! Spring has officially arrived, and we’ve been soaking up every bit of sunshine. With the windows open, the streets buzzing, and long golden evenings setting in, the right soundtrack has never felt more essential. Whether you’re out for a neighborhood stroll, catching a breeze on your fire escape, or just vibing with the change in season, these are the songs that have been matching our moods and carrying us through the week.
My Selects
Track One – “Crush” – Ethel Cain
There’s something about “Crush” that hits differently when the sun’s out and your heart’s a little tender. Ethel Cain’s hazy, melancholic sound feels like it’s made for quiet moments in the sun — equal parts dreamy and devastating. It’s that kind of track that makes you pause and let the moment stretch out just a bit longer.
Track Two – “Sugarcat” – DOPE LEMON
“Sugarcat” is full of swagger, sunshine, and just the right amount of weird. DOPE LEMON leans into his psychedelic strut on this one, making it feel like a groove-heavy daydream you can’t quite shake. It’s playful, bold, and absolutely made for walking down the street like you’re in a music video.
Track Three – “Texas Sun” – Leon Bridges
This track is a spring essential. Leon Bridges and Khruangbin combine forces to deliver a song that sounds like golden hour in audio form. “Texas Sun” radiates warmth, nostalgia, and the freedom of an open road. Whether you’re heading out of town or just walking to the bodega, it turns the ordinary into a scene.
Track Four – “Outré Lux” – Photay (feat. Madison Mcferrin)
“Outré Lux” feels like a deep breath of fresh air, expansive, bright, and full of quiet detail. Photay’s delicate production glows here, and Madison McFerrin’s vocals float through like sunlight filtering through tree branches. It’s a track that feels totally in sync with spring: new, light, and endlessly full of possibility.
Laneisha’s Selects:
Track Five – “Amor Fati” – Visages
A soundtrack for dusk and deep thoughts, “Amor fati” pairs perfectly with the quiet drama of a spring evening. Visages blend shadowy textures with fast, fluid breaks to create a mood that’s introspective but still in motion, like watching petals fall in slow motion on a city sidewalk.
Track Six – “Wassup” – Young Miko
When the sun’s out and the vibe is right, “Wassup” brings the energy. Young Miko’s flow is sharp and playful, riding a beat that demands you turn the volume all the way up. It’s bold, breezy, and bursting with charisma. Basically, your warm-weather power walk anthem.
Track Seven – “Lost My Way” – Visages, Nazca
For those quieter spring nights, “Lost My Way” is pure mood. This track is a little darker, a little deeper and perfect for nighttime walks under streetlights. Visages and Nazca layer melody and tension in a way that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
Nathan’s Selects:
Track Eight – “All Night” – Johnny Yukon
“All Night” is silky-smooth with a pulse that feels like the city coming alive. It’s got just the right blend of groove and edge, making it ideal for riding the afterglow of a sun-soaked day. If spring had a secret afterparty, this would be playing in the background.
Track Nine – “No Fun” – Lane 8 and Rae Morris
Bright, shimmering production meets melancholy lyrics in “No Fun,” a track that somehow feels like dancing with a heavy heart. Lane 8 and Rae Morris capture that springtime tension between hope and nostalgia and make it sound absolutely gorgeous.
Let these tracks carry you through the week like a perfect spring breeze. We’ll be back next Wednesday with more songs to soundtrack your season. Until then, keep listening and soaking up the sun!
