SMF 2021 is For the Girls

SMF 2021 is setting the bar high releasing a heavily female-led lineup of both producers and dj’s. The feminine energy this line up brings is so appreciated, in an industry and genre that is often male dominated. Each artist has their own unique vibe to offer and we as fans are more than ready to receive.

Sunset is a veteran festival that has secured their spot in the Florida EDM scene as a yearly staple. This weekend will consist of electronic music dj’s from all over the globe, and 8 of them are women.

Ranging from heart-pounding melodic bass to tech house, 2021 is the year for the girls. Payment plans for tickets will end at midnight this Friday, April 9th, so make sure to snag your wristband and check out these amazing female artists.

Lizzy Jane

Lizzy Jane’s personal SoundCloud.

Tampa native, Lizzy Jane, is back for another year of ground-shaking bass and synth melodies to rock our bodies. I’ve seen Lizzy at The Ritz multiple times in Tampa and have watched her grow so much over the years.

I remember when I first saw her as an opener at The Ritz, and she performed on one of the smaller stages. I went back to The Ritz approximately a year and some change later, and homegirl was on the big stage.

She’s got such a beautiful soul and radiates love during her sets, while simultaneously breaking your neck with her filthy drops. We love Lizzy so much and are so glad to see her at SMF repping for Tampa and women in music.

JVNA

JVNA is an LA based multi-instrumentalist who began her career producing electronic music for video games and anime remixes.

In 2018, her fan base exploded after she released her first self-directed music video “I’m With You”, which was inspired by the recent loss of her dad. Subsequently, she released her single “Catch Me” and announced her debut Catch Me tour, but due to the pandemic, it was canceled.

JVNA is arriving in Tampa ready to drop all that she has been working on this year. We are so ready for you, JVNA.

VAMPA

Known by her stage name VAMPA, Emily started her career in Chicago and signed with The GRAVEDANCER Agency in 2018. Making her presence known in the EDM music scene while touring with Boogie T around the US, VAMPA sinks her teeth into our necks and we can’t get enough.

VNSSA

Hailing from Los Angeles, VNSSA will bring a wide range of house, techno, and disco to Raymond James Stadium. In 2018, she released her debut single on House of Hustle Records and has continued to climb the charts ever since. She has performed with such a wide range of artists including Calude VonStroke, Noa En Pure, Walker & Royce, Fisher, AC Slater, and many more.

Softest Hard

Coming from North Carolina and nurturing her career in L.A., Softest Hard brings her passion and love for music to the steamy Tampa festival grounds. Combining soft melodies with hard drops, Softest Hard translates her name into her music. Having yet to release her EP we hope to hear more of what oxymoron, Softest Hard, has been cookin’ up.

Lucii

Lucii entered our bass universe in 2017, coming in peace with her intergalactic Space Bass sound. Her authentic style of production has earned her recognition as the first woman to release music with the WAKAAN family. Lucii is breaking barriers with her originality.

Kendoll

This west coast maven from Seattle began her career at the ripe age of 16. Pumping bass and tech house through her speakers, Kendoll has climbed the charts and made her presence known on the westside. She’s played at EDCLV, Beyond Wonderland, Nocturnal Wonderland, and others. We’re so excited to see her at SMF this year.

REZZ

Alright, you know I had to save the best for last. Isabelle Rezazadeh, AKA REZZ, is a self-taught producer from Niagara Falls, Ontario. Heavily pursuing music since she was 16, REZZ has claimed her throne as “Space Mom”.

Her music is genre-bending and her own original sound. In addition to teaching herself the ins and outs of music production growing up, she attributes her psychology studies as an aid to the masterpieces she bestows upon us.

She’s consistently sold-out shows, so if you’re planning to watch her at SMF I suggest getting to her set extra early. Get ready to be voluntarily abducted and taken to your leader.

Here’s a playlist I made featuring tracks from each of these beautiful, talented, ground-breaking female DJ’s/producers. We’re so excited to hear all that each of these ladies has to share because they’ve all been grinding hard during the pandemic. SMF 2021 is going to be a literal movie.
