Hey Mic Drop fam! Welcome to the first New Music Friday of November. As the year winds down, we have a few more weeks left of new music to round out an incredible year of new music. November is starting out strong with an incredible lineup of artists dropping new tunes. This week, we have new music from ROSALÍA, Kehlani and more!
Lux ROSALÍA
Today, global superstar ROSALÍA released her highly anticipated fourth studio album. On Lux, we see a brand new side to the singer. The crisp production makes for a dramatic, cinematic listening experience. ROSALÍA goes on a journey of experimentation, immersing herself in orchestral strings that truly captivate you. This is unlike anything she’s ever done. Lux is fresh, a breath of fresh air that maintains ROSALÍA’s undeniable artistry and talent to grow and evolve on each project. “Out The Window” Kehlani
R&B singer, Kehlani, has us all in our feels on “Out The Window.” Her new song channels everything we love about old school R&B. Kehlani’s sultry vocals and intimate lyricism strike right at the heartstrings. Kehlani shines on this brand new track incorporating influences from ‘90s and 2000s R&B with a fresh take that will leave you wanting more. “Out The Window” follows her latest single “Folded,” both of which are expected to be on an upcoming album slated for next year.
“EP #2” Kings of Leon
Alt rock band Kings of Leon are back with their first EP in over a decade. After years of releasing critically, acclaimed albums, the band is giving fans a new, four track ep “EP #2.” This is the band’s first fully self produced project. Sonically, the band returns to their roots leaning into a more gritty rock sound. While we’re not sure if an album is on the way, fans can enjoy these four new songs.
“California Games” Armand Hammer, The Alchemist, Earl Sweatshirt
Armand Hammer, The Alchemist and Earl Sweatshirt have teamed up for a brand new collaboration. “California Games” united three forces in music creating a slick hip hop track. The production from The Alchemist is absolutely stellar accompanied by introspective lyricism. “Califronia Games” is featured on Mercy, the brand new album from Armand Hammer and The Alchemist out today.
Small Talk Whitney
Beloved indie folk duo, Whitney, released their fifth studio album Small Talk. This record marks the band’s return to their signature style of self production. The pair beautifully blends soft rock and folk creating something perfect for the fall season. Their use of warm instrumentation, brass and strings will make you want to embark on a long walk amongst the trees and the changing season. If you’re a fan of the record, you can catch Whitney on the road next year while they tour across all North America.
