As we gear up to welcome June, a handful of our favorite artists have blessed our ears with brand new tunes to ring in the summer. This week’s New Music Friday features releases from Addison Rae, Leon Thomas, Mt. Joy and so many more!

“Fame Is a Gun” by Addison Rae

Addison Rae continues to grow and evolve into the pop star she was born to be on her new single “Fame Is a Gun.” Just one week out from the release of her debut album Addison, the singer has given fans what might arguably be her best single so far. The pop-synth track is ecstatic, grabbing your attention from the second you hit play. Lyrically, Rae explores the public’s reaction to her journey from viral TikToker to popstar. “NOT FAIR” by Leon Thomas

Today, R&B singer, songwriter Leon Thomas released the deluxe version of his latest studio album MUTT. A standout track to the Mic Drop team was “NOT FAIR.” Thomas’s soulful vocals are accompanied to a groovy bassline. The singer has quickly become a rising star in the R&B world with his heartfelt songwriting and sweet sounds. 

Hope We Have Fun By Mt. Joy

Hope We Have Fun is the fourth studio album from indie rock band Mt. Joy. On their new record, the five piece explore relationships and their journey as a band. The record features collaborations with Gigi Perex and Nathaniel Rateliff. With every record, Mt. Joy continues to grow and expand sonically while keeping a touch of their soulful folk-rock sound that fans have loved since the band’s beginning. 

“Peter Pan” by maye

Venezuelan-American singer songwriter maye transports listeners to another world on her new song “Peter Pan.” Full of flamenco influences, maye creates a dreamy soundscape accompanied by gorgeous spanish guitar and soft percussion. maye is truly one of a kind — her music takes listeners to euphoric and dreamy places that only sound has the power to do. 

Winter’s End by Balduvian Bears

Gothic rock band Balduvian Bears have released their second album Winter’s End. Front to back, the band’s new record seamlessly fuses a haunting blend of melancholic post-punk and shimmering darkwave. Sonically and lyrically, a sense of mystery lingers on. Ethereal vocals and atmospheric instrumentation blend to create a sonic world on Winter’s End.

“Cops & Robbers” by Sammy Virji and Skepta 

EDM powerhouses Sammy Virji and Skepta join forces to bring you a fire new track, “Cops & Robbers.” The pair’s electrifying single combines UK Garage and Grime showcasing each individual’s undeniable talent.

“Lover’s Holiday” by Durand Jones and The Indications 

“Lover’s Holiday” is the latest single from Durand Jones & The Indications’ third studio album Flowers. The soul revival group branches out exploring a new retro sound and executes it perfectly. The jazz inspired track is slick and smooth. Sonically it sounds like a cruise around the world pulling sounds from global jazz. The soft drums and light brass section truly take the listening experience to a whole new level.
