Grammy-award winning artist Kali Uchis has announced her fifth studio album, Sincerely. To drop the news, the star took to social media with a cinematic teaser. She looked absolutely stunning in the clip. In a voice over Uchis says that she is dreaming of a home where “everything works out the way it should.” Sincerely will be her first full-length project since her critically acclaimed 2024 Spanglish album, Orquídeas. While we don’t have an official release, we do know some insights from Uchi’s that has fans buzzing in anticipation.
From Kali to Her Fans
While the exact release date of Sincerely has yet to be disclosed, Uchis has provided insights into the album’s thematic foundation. In an interview with 10 Magazine, she revealed that the project was inspired by a “life-altering event.” The singer chose to keep the specifics private. She described the album as her most “existential and honest work,” focusing on “the complexities of life and finding ways to find joy in life despite the world.” Uchis emphasized the importance of appreciating every moment and not taking life for granted, suggesting that this album holds profound personal significance.
Some fans might speculate that the profound event Uchis experienced was when she welcomed her first born child. In March 2024, Uchis and musical artist Don Toliver welcomed a baby boy into the world. In recent press, the star revealed how this album has served as a healing mechanism for her. Not only does she evolve as an artist on each project, she opens up more and more on her personal experiences. So far, Sincerely is shaping up to be Uchis’ most personal work to date.

While a lead single from the album is on the verge of release, fans have been given some new music from the singer in recent weeks. She was recently featured on the debut album Ruby from BLACKPINK member JENNIE. “Damn Right” also features Childish Gambino. On this track, Uchis’ voice is sultry and soft. The three artists come together to make a memorable collaboration. The track showcases Uchi’s effortless ability to perform in any genre or style of music.
