To the surprise of many, including myself, we got a brand new blonded RADIO from Apple Music Saturday night. The timing seemed all to suspicious, leading me to think… are we getting a new Frank Ocean project by the end of the decade? Frank is one of the most interesting characters in music. An adored yet mysterious figure that gives us classic gems… then ducks off into a cave for a few years. We got a new track from the surprise radio broadcast called DHL, a sleepy number filled with Frank elaborating on his love for vehicles and drugs.
He also previewed two new tracks called Cayendo and Dear April, the latter of which has that same New Orleans bounce flavor that made Drake’s, “In my Feelings” a hit. Hopefully all three tracks are apart of a new Ocean project reportedly titled FO3*.
Ocean wears many hats outside of music, and has even dipped into the world of hospitality and nightlife. He just recently opened in a new nightclub in New York called PrEP+, which is “an ongoing safe space made to bring people together and dance.” It’s nice to see Frank finally out of his hibernation and being an active part in music. Here’s to seeing FO3* before the end of 2020 and more Frank Ocean.
