EDC Orlando’s Must See Acts: Part 1

Insomniac Events will host the Electric Daisy Carnival in Orlando for the 9th time this November. The central Florida edition of EDC has now leveled up and received an additional day to dance under the electric sky. We have seen this EDC grow immensely since it began with the inclusion of bigger and better stages as well as more artists both on stage and on the dance floor. Insomniac takes pride in how much love and care goes into making the festival about YOU, the ultimate headliner.

The Electric Daisy Carnival provides entertainment through the music, the stages, the performers, the pyrotechnics, the carnival rides and plenty of interactive installations throughout the park. One of my favorite things about Insomniac Events is how well their team continues to formulate diverse lineups. They do a fantastic job covering all of the different realms of dance music including both well known names and names that need to be known. We will be releasing a series of articles leading up to the event with a few of our must see acts.

No Mana b2b Eddie

I remember the excitement I had while writing a preview about No Mana playing EDC Orlando back in 2015 and it feels great to be able to do it again. No Mana has pushed his way to be one of the most consistent names amongst the Mau5trap crew and is showing no signs of slowing down. Since 2015 we’ve seen No Mana continue to do great things including a collaboration with i_o, a lovely remix for Gabriel & Dresden, a massive remix for Feed Me & Kill the Noise, and the 14th edition of his “Level UP” EP series.

This year we are blessed to have No Mana and Eddie going back to back. Eddie has made quite the name for himself and is also one of the rising artists on Mau5trap. Eddie just released two seperate mouthwatering collaborations with Rezz and ATLiens and a gorgeous progressive track titled “Spiritual Contraband” on Mau5trap earlier this year. Listen to No Mana x Eddie HERE.

Bart Skils is one of those artists that you just can’t pass up at a festival. It’s going to be nice for us Floridians, in November, to warm up with the amount of heat he lays down. Mr. Skils carries an extreme amount of confidence on the decks and will 100% make his way deep into your mind during his set. A massive name in techno and a name you’ve seen all over Drumcode throughout the years, Bart Skils is a wonderful DJ and producer. His dark and heavy style, which can be heard in his new release “Lost on You” with Weska, is a prime example of what to expect from the Dutch techno puppeteer. Here’s a personal favorite live set from Bart Skils that should have you ready to be front and center for Bart Skils this November. Listen to Bart Skils live in Buenos Aires HERE

Tapio Hakanen, Orkidea, is a true dance music pioneer and has been paving the way for the Scandinavian trance scene since the late 1990s. An absolute powerhouse in trance, Orkidea is a mastermind both on the decks and in the studio. Orkidea’s dj sets will take you on a journey through the sounds of progressive house, trance and everything in between. Over the years he has released a wide range of originals, remixes and collaborations. Some of my all time favorites include his remix of Florence + The Machine’s “What the Water Gave Me” and his collaboration “Zeitgeist” with Solarstone. No stranger to Pure Trance and Black Hole Recordings, he will surely provide us with an abundance of tasty beats. Listen to Orkidea on Radio Unity 098 HERE.
