Guide to Pride: NYC

by Cheyenne Leitch

Your Unofficially Official Guide to Dancing Through the Revolution

Pride isn’t just a party, it’s a parade, a protest, and a pop-up runway all rolled into one. Next weekend (June 27–29), New York City is turning it out, and we’ve got your play-by-play for all the gay joy, loud music, and righteous rage that’ll have the streets shaking in glitter. From drag-led marches to 12-hour mega-raves, here’s how to do Pride 2025 the fabulous way.

Friday, June 27 — Drag, Dykes & Drama

1

NYC Drag March

The unofficial-official start to the weekend. It’s messy. It’s punk. & It’s a genderf*cking fever dream that starts in Tompkins Square Park and ends outside Stonewall. Bring signs, sequins, and a full diaphragm (you’ll be screaming).

Heritage: The Official Opening Party

At the Brooklyn Navy Yard, this party is the polished counterpart. Big venue, big DJs, big queer energy. Think: your hottest mutuals in mesh shirts and heels that defy gravity.

Saturday, June 28 — Come for the Music, Stay for the Chaos

Youth Pride

All ages, all joy. South Street Seaport turns into a queer carnival with music, games, and community orgs doing real work. If you’ve got a younger sibling or just want to bask in wholesome vibes (and free snacks), this is the move.

Night Out by Pitchfork x Them

The music nerds and the fashion gays unite! Knockdown Center gets blessed with performances from Underscores, Dua Saleh, Skaiwater, and more. Hyperpop, alt-rap, a few drag stunts, basically, a Tumblr dashboard come to life.

Sunday, June 29 — This Is the Main Character Day

NYC Pride March

Starts at 11 AM on Fifth Ave, but girl, get there early if you want a good view. This year’s theme is “Rise Up: Pride in Protest,” and it’s giving resistance and rhinestones. Watch the floats, walk the route, or just live your best life curbside with a mimosa in hand.

PrideFest

Street fair, music stage, vendors, books, food trucks, and every gay dog in the city. Greenwich Village becomes the queerest block party on Earth for a few glorious hours.

Re-United at HK Hall

Womxn-centered. Dance-heavy. Vibes immaculate. It’s one of those parties where you show up not knowing anyone and leave with three group chats and a new crush.

POSH at Nebula

It’s the Pride after-party for the maximalists. Lights. Bass. Body glitter. Maybe even a drag queen on a harness. If your Pride doesn’t end at 3 AM, did it even start?

Alegria at Avant Gardner

Twelve hours. Three dance floors. Zero inhibitions. If you’re ready to sweat out your sins to the beat of Afro House and techno, welcome to church.

NYC Pride 2025 is here to remind you: queer joy is powerful, protest is beautiful, and there’s no such thing as “too much” when it comes to sequins. March with your people. Dance until sunrise. Scream the lyrics. And don’t forget, being here, being loud, and being you is a radical act.

🌈Now go be gay and do crimes (legal ones, please).

Happy Pride, babes.
