The 2025 Grammy Awards Ceremony took place this past Sunday. Along with unforgettable performances and moving speeches came jaw dropping as well as questionable fashion moments on the red carpet. Many artists consider winning a Grammy one of the highest achievements in their career. It’s the biggest night in music and while many of the stars came dressed to impress, others fell short.
Best Dressed
Chappell Roan
Best New Artist winner, Chappell Roan, stunned in a Jean Paul Gaultier Couture. All of Roan’s award show looks this season share Victorian-style gowns infused with drag, but this is by far Roan’s best look yet. Her dramatic look seamlessly fits into the world she’s created for her fans to live in.

Olivia Rodrigo
Sometimes, less is more, and Olivia Rodrigo’s vintage Versace dress proved that statement true. The singer wore an elegant, all-black gown with cutouts on the sides, looking absolutely gorgeous. This was probably the most simple look on the entire carpet that evening, but it was by far the best.

Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift made the bold choice of wearing an all-red Vivienne Westwood dress. Wearing red on a red carpet sounds like a big no no, but boy, did Swift make it work. The glam was simple and everything was red, which is fitting given Taylor’s album Red and the upcoming Super Bowl where her boyfriend will be playing in just a few short days. Red is Swift’s color and the bedazzled, red “T” hanging from her dress proves it.

Worst Dressed
Troye Sivan
Troye Sivan wore an all-lavender Prada suit mixed of shiny and sheer fabric. The suit appears wrinkled, but it is hard to tell if it truly is or the fabric gives that appearance. The coat is a little too long. A better-fitted suit would have done the star much more justice.

Kacey Musgraves
Kacey Musgraves stunned in Ralph Lauren, however the look was a bit underwhelming especially for an occasion like the Grammys. Musgraves wore a dazzling, gold skirt covered in fringe which caught the attention of many, but the white top that accompanied the outfit dressed her down. Regardless, the country singer looked amazing, but a bit more glam waist up would have served her much better, giving an unforgettable red carpet moment.

Kelsea Ballerini
Kelsea Ballerini gave an interesting look on the red carpet the other night. The singer, wearing a dress by Tamara Ralph Couture accompanied by a white, oversized coat, caused the two pieces to clash. Ballerini’s dress was an armor-like texture which did not suit the silky, white coat that followed her down the carpet. A short dress with a long train usually never works in one’s favor.

Honorable Mentions
This list would be incomplete without featuring honorable mentions. Charli XCX, Victoria Monet, and Sabrina Carpenter shared one thing in common that night which was they all wore a shade of blue. Each look was breathtaking and fitted the star’s personality perfectly. Miley Cyrus dropped jaws with her all-black Saint Laurent look.
The biggest trend we saw in the year’s red carpet looks was simplicity. No star seemed to dress over the top or seemed desperate for attention. While that is what many viewers look for at the Grammys, the simplicity all seemed to work hand-in-hand. Sure we had artists like Gaga and Roan steal the show in their daring looks, but it would not be a red carpet if they didn’t.
