Sunset Music Festival is here! Hosted in Tampa, FL, the city that has quite literally been on fire through the midst of this COVID craziness. The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup, the Super Bowl was hosted there and the Buccaneers took the championship, and live music has continued to thrive in this Rising South Florida city.
And to top it all off, veteran festival SMF is back. Held at Raymond James Stadium, the ultimate 2-day experience features local electronic dance music DJs, boasting big names such as Fisher, Rezz, Alison Wonderland, Zeds Dead, Chris Lake, and many more.
What started as a local legend with Tampanians has become a statewide, if not national sensation. Ravers travel from all over to boogie down in the South Florida sun each May.
I went to SMF 2019, and it was arguably my favorite festival that I’ve been to. The vibes were immaculate and each day was spent groovin’ with the homies.
SMF is the perfect festival for newcomers and veterans alike, as there is such a wide range of EDM music. From heavy bass to deep house to jersey club, each performance is so diverse.
The festival will feature many returning artists such as AC Slater, Said The Sky, 12th Planet, and Lizzy Jane. Although the line up is full of heavy hitters…

TVBOO
TVBOO will be making his SMF debut this year, and we know he’s gonna come firing the heat. The Jackson, Mississippi-born DJ brings his body-moving distorted sounds coupled with seamlessly unique basslines to stages all over. TroyBoi
TroyBoi, a fan favorite coming from East London, is ready to envelop the crowd in his unique, self-produced trap beats. TroyBoi combines tunes from all genres of music, adds his trap signature, and we are left with a musical composition unlike any other. Check out his remix of Billie Eilish’s “My Boy” and his most recent release V!BEZ, Vol. 4, both on Spotify.
SLANDER
The duo that never fails to make us cry in a crowd. Anytime they are headliners, I know their set is gonna be fire. Let me know how you manage to make us headbang, dream, and cry all in one set. Just head to their Spotify and click “shuffle”. You won’t be disappointed.
Rezz
Space Mom will be taking us on a euphoric ride through the cosmos. Rezz’s trippy sounds and hypnotic bass combine to take us out of space, and we can’t wait to ascend during her set. Also, let’s give a round of applause to Rezz for bringing in this undeniably hot female-energy to the EDM music scene. Her latest release “Sacrificial” on Spotify makes my neck tingle.
Partying in Tampa is such a different vibe compared to everywhere else I’ve been, and I can’t wait to dance in the sunset yet again. Give us the lazers. Give us the glove shows. Give us the misters and the smoke. We’re ready for you SMF.
