Looks like our favorite Scoops Ahoy employee is servin’ up some incredible music.
Joe Keery, known for playing Steve Harrington on Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things, shared his debut solo single Tuesday afternoon.
Under the name Djo, Keery released “Roddy,” a dynamic psychedelic rock track. The song layers haunting percussive sounds and has one very groovy outro, reminiscent of bands like Beach House and Tame Impala.
Keery is no stranger to the music scene. He was previously a member of Chicago progressive rock band Post Animal, but left the group in 2018.
It seems Keery isn’t the only musically inclined Stranger Things cast member. Co-stars Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo front bands Calpurnia and Work in Progress. And don’t think I forgot – Matarazzo also performs a killer rendition of “Never Ending Story” in season three’s most iconic scene.
All in all, I’m stoked to see what Joe Keery releases next. If “Roddy” was any indication, we’re in for quite a treat.
