Slayyyter Dances Through The Pain of Love and Stardom

Electronic pop star, Slayyyter, has released her second studio album, STARF*CKER. After three years in the making, the long awaited follow up to Troubled Paradise is finally here. Slayyyter began turning heads back in 2019 with her singles “Mine” and “Daddy AF”, making her a prominent force in the world of dance pop. On her new concept album, Slayyyter seductively tells the story of one’s longing for fame and love.

A CONCEPT ALBUM DONE RIGHT

In the world of current music, concept albums feel rare. And when the time comes for one, they are hardly ever done right. In the case of STARF*CKER, Slayyyter delivers an impeccable vision sonically, lyrically, and visually. She creates a world for her listeners to dive right in, telling a story of a wannabe pop star. For many people, at some point in their lives, they dream about being famous. Some go to great lengths to achieve their desired stardom. Slayyyter tells her version of that story on STARF*CKER.

Themes of love, sex, and drugs persist on every song. “I Love Hollywood!” sets the scene, exposing the aspiring pop star to the glamor and chaos that is LA. She encounters the rush of the fast life and falling for a stranger in the matter of a short period of time. Slayyyter explores the hopes, dreams and heartbreak of a life longing for the spotlight.

Every track is sexy and ecstatic, but also maintain a great deal of introspection of the desire for fame. All good things must come to an end; Slayyyter concludes the saga on “Out of Time.” Flashing lights, fog, and a room full of dancing people will make for the best listening experience. STARF*CKER is a record created to be played in clubs from start to finish. Every song, distinct in their own sound, come together to create a masterpiece of a concept album.

my personal favorites

A dance record at the core, Slayyyter gave her fans a project to move with from beginning to end. “Memories Of You” brings the energy and the emotions. The electronic pop track recalls the memory of a past love that Slayyyter cannot seem to forget. “Rhinestone Heart” dabbles more in the realm of pop than most of the other tracks. A catchy chorus exposes the manipulative intentions of someone wanting to use our pop star as eye candy. Slayyyter is sexier than ever on arguably the best track on the record, “Erotic Electronic.” A hypnotizing intro immediately grabs the listener’s attention. Full of desire and lust, this song begs to be played at full blast. “Tear Me Open” is a certified slow jam, the one time on the record where listeners can take in the whole record before the climatic closing track. Salyyyter incorporates Daft Punk influenced vocals and sultry synthesizers for a smooth listening. On each track Slayyyter expands on the sounds fans know and love, giving us her strongest and best work to date.

Club Valentine Coming to a City Near You
