We’ve reached the halfway mark in June. This month began with dozens of amazing releases to soundtrack the start of the summer. This week, the releases are just as great as our playlist expands into another week of June. We have new tunes from Kehlani, a collaboration between Mark Ronson and RAYE and so much more. We hope you enjoy what the team picked!
“Folded” by Kehlani
“Folded” marks Kehlani’s first original release since her 2024 mixtape, While We Wait 2. The R&B singer shines on “Folded” with her smooth, sultry vocals. Lyrically the track carries raw emotion and introspection. She sings about the memories and belongings of a previous lover inviting them to pick up what is theirs from her while the door is still open. Sonically, Kelani blends atmospheric R&B with an addicting guitar riff that plays throughout the song.
“Suzanne” by Mark Ronson and Raye
A Mark Ronson and RAYE collaboration is a match made in heaven. Their new song “Suzanne” is everything we could have wanted and more. Sonically, the track immediately made me think of the one and only, Amy Winehouse. “Suzanne” is soulful and jazzy. It’s everything we love about Ronson and RAYE. The soulful energy is contagious. It’s impossible to not sway back and forth, getting into your feelings as you listen. Wouldn’t it be great if the pair dropped an entire album together?
“Love Of Mine / Far Away” by ALB, BRAVVN and pyxis
Calling all Drum and Bass lovers because not only do we have one, but two fire tracks from ALB, BRAVVN and pyxis. The first side of this double release “Love Of Mine” fuses melodic vocals over atmospheric synths and a rolling rhythm. It’s an ambient style of Drum and Bass that takes listeners into another world. The second half “Far Away” does just the same. The pulsating drum accompanies hypnotic vocals that curate dreamy emotions. Sonically each track is nostalgic of a late night drive through a vibrant city. You’ll wanna have these two tracks in your rotation asap!
“Won’t Stop” by Gunna
Gunna brings the heat on his new single “Won’t Stop.” He masterfully raps about his resilience, the grind and his persistence in the face of any setback he encounters. Lingering in the back of the song is a moody piano accompanied by a snare and crisp cymbals. “Won’t Stop” is a feel good anthem anytime you need to remind yourself of how much of a boss you are.
“Ghost Town” by Purple Disco Machine featuring Retrosonix
Purple Disco Machine teams up with Retrosonix to bring a fresh, funky tune “Ghost Town.” From the groovy bassline to the catchy chorus, this track is bound to have you moving and grooving. The vocals are soulful, quite reminiscent of early disco. Purple Disco Maschine has made a name for himself for producing some of the best disco-house fused music out there. Luckily for us, he’s bringing the vibes all over the west coast in just a few weeks while on his “Paradise” tour.
“Hold On” By Leon Bridges
Leon Bridges brings all the feels on his folky new single “Hole On.” This track is a new release to the public, but it’s an old gem that Bridges wrote back in 2015. The soul-infused folk tune fuses tangy guitar with soulful piano chords and Bridges raw songwriting. He reminisces on the ways he should have held on tighter to a lover when he had the chance. It’s a feeling we can all relate. Although this song has existed for a while, it’s fresh in our rotation and we think you should add it to yours too.
Wow! What a stacked week of releases. We hope you enjoy them all weekend long!
