Happy New Music Friday Mic Drop fam! As the summer continues to heat up, so do the releases each week. This week we have new tunes from FKA twigs, Bad Bunny, FISHER and so many more!
“Perfectly” by FKA twigs
FKA twigs has given fans the first taste of the deluxe version of her critically acclaimed album Eusexua. “Perfectly” expands the world of club energy and hard hitting tracks so meticulously crafted by twigs. The new song features twig’s ethereal vocals, soft synths and techno beats. I can already picture a room full of sweaty people dancing as “Perfectly” booms and bounces off the club walls.
“ALAMBRE PúA” by Bad Bunny
This week, Bad Bunny dropped a surprise single “ALAMBRE PúA” after debuting the track during his Puerto Rico residency. Bad Bunny blends bomba and plena with electronic rhythms, thick basslines and hypnotic synths.
“Blackberries” by FISHER and bbyclose
Fire dance track incoming! FISHER and bbyclose team up for a brand new collab “Blackberries.” Bright synths and a rolling bassline all lead up to a sick beat drop. bbyclose delivers dreamy vocals. This is the perfect tune to throw on in a club, at the beach – quite literally anywhere!
“Right Back Where It Started” by The Lagoons and Allegra Miles
The Lagoons and Allegra Miles have teamed up for a dreamy new song “Right Back Where It Started.” A choppy piano, groovy bassline and soft percussion come together to create a nostalgic summer track. The harmonies between lead singer Joey and the ethereal Allegra Miles are soft and sweet.The song closes with a signature saxophone outro. “Mind Loaded” by Blood Orange
Along with the announcement of his brand new album Essex Honey, Blood Orange dropped two new singles. “Mind Loaded” features some of the biggest names in music including Lorde, Caroline Polachek and Mustafa. What is so special about Blood Orange is there is no artist who sounds as distinct as him. “Mind Loaded” can only be described as “choral-inspired pop.” The track is breathtaking and has built a great deal of excitement ahead of the new record.
“Loveless” by Gorgon City
DJ duo Gorgon City bring the heat on this house heavy track “Loveless.” The house rhythm hooks you from the second the song starts. Catchy vocals coat the track perfectly making it perfect for the dancefloor. “Loveless” is instantly a Gorgon City classic.
“Lost Generation” by Hypho and Fugzi
Next, we have a bassheavy collaboration from Hypho and Fugzi. “Lost Generation” brings hard bass, a breakbeat foundation and relentless lyrics to make a certified banger. The opening synth will grab your attention instantly.
“DSM” by Sainté and Wiz Khalifa
Shifting gears, we bring you our next pick, “DSM” by Sainté and Wiz Khalifa. Sainté sings slick vocals while Wiz Khalifa drops mad bars. Sonically the track takes on a cool alt/ rap sound, fused jazz elements and a broken beat. “DSM” has an element of mystery to it and we can’t get enough!
“Woke Up” by Trippie Redd
Trippie Redd is back with his new single “Wake Up.” The track’s cinematic opening is an attention grabber most definitely. The atmospheric intro builds and builds until BOOM the trap beat drops. Trippie Redd spits mad bars start to finish.
