Has Ariana Grande Teased A 7th Studio Album?

Pop star Ariana Grande has officially teased her 7th studio album. This Monday, she posted a photo dump on Instagram, including pictures of her with goats (yes, that’s correct). Her post was mysteriously captioned “ag7: goat mother.” It’s not quite clear if Ariana’s message is all serious, but with over two million likes, this definitely hasn’t stopped her fans from scheming.

Fan Reactions

Ariana Grande fans could not be more intrigued by this cryptic post. From Instagram to Twitter, they’ve have occupied themselves with hordes of memes and potential album covers. There were various enthusiastic comments underneath the original post, one even getting attention from Grande herself.

Another took to Twitter to create quite a humorous edit.

This fan took it to the next level, including Nicki Minaj as a potential collaborator on the album…in the form of goats.

Although Grande fans are quick with their scheming and even quicker with their memes, there may be some legitimacy behind this post.

More Than Just Goats

It’s pretty safe to say the goats were the star of this photo dump, but beyond the cute faces, there’s something more to this post. Photos of friends and family are featured throughout the post, including some fun Halloween makeup and her Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo. But the last photo is where fans have a right to be suspicious.

Swedish singer and songwriter Max Martin was featured in Grande’s post, on the last slide. Martin has been an intricate part of Grande’s journey as an artist, assisting her in four out of her six albums. Ranging from composer to producer to both, Martin’s name can be found under a majority of Grande’s songs.

Ariana Grande and Max Martin

With this in mind, a photo of Martin might be more important than first glance. Grande also posted a photo of her sitting in a guitar case. Although this could just be a catch-up with friends, given Martin and Grande’s track record, it wouldn’t be outlandish to speculate their reunion was for something more.

No Secrets in this fan base

This wouldn’t be the first time that fans have uncovered new and upcoming music. Arianators seem to have a skill for uncovering album release dates or finding leaked demos. Ariana Grande even commented on this during one of her r.e.m beauty YouTube videos:

“you’ve stolen all my unreleased music. It’s Horrible.”

Although said quite sarcastically in the video, this is a genuine issue Grande has faced in the past. A bevy of her works, including music videos for “No Tears Left to Cry,” and “God Is A Woman”, were released to the public without her permission. Unreleased songs being leaked are not necessarily shocking, however, music videos are another story. Her fans, although passionate, do have a track record for bringing light to leaked music.

What Do You think?

All of this aside, fans are beyond excited for Ariana Grande’s 7th album. Barely satiated from her 2020 album, Positions, the fandom cannot wait for new music. Although Grande stated there would not be any new music until after the production of Wicked, perhaps this was just to throw us off her trail.

What do you think? Can we expect new music within the next year? Goats or no goats, this future album is sure to cause a frenzy.
