Artist Spotlight: LIMBS

The Vans Warped Tour, as we knew it, was laid to rest this past weekend after 24 cross-country summer tours. It came to its conclusion in hot & sticky Florida as fans waited out lightning delays, moshed through mud, and powered through the Florida Warped Tour heat to see their favorite bands.

I attended the Tampa date on Saturday (still sad it wasn’t at Vinoy Park in St. Pete) and I had one of my favorite Warped Tour experiences of all time. The lineup was stacked on all stages as we saw Warped Tour legends such as Every Time I Die, Less Than Jake, and Reel Big Fish. The crowd was full of energy even with the 90+ degree heat all day long.

One of my favorite things about the Vans Warped Tour is their commitment to showcasing up and coming bands. The Full Sail stage was home to so awesome on the rise bands and even local talent. My Spotlight Band from the 2018 Vans Warped Tour is LIMBS. They’re a post-hardcore band from Tampa, Florida and they we’re an eye and ear opening start to the day. From start to finish LIMBS showed the passion and intensity of what it means to play in front of a hometown crowd.

LIMBS released their first EP (with their updated lineup) back in 2014 titled ‘Admission’ which received heavy praise. In 2015 they released a pair of singles and they rapidly gained attention in 2016 as they toured with Saosin. In 2017, LIMBS released a six track EP titled ‘SLEEP’ which was their debut release on Equal Vision Records and it was also produced by Tim McTague from Underoath, they toured with Envy as well as Hail the Sun. 2018 has been a massive year for LIMBS, they joined Tampa Post-Hardcore legends Underoath on their No Fix tour. They also released their first full length album titled ‘Father’s Son’ and it is quite the debut record.

After playing two of the Florida dates for Vans Warped Tour, LIMBS will enjoy a quick tour with Emery and Oh, Sleeper to finish off August. Expect big things from this band in the near future.
