A Night of 24K Magic; 2018 Grammy’s Recap

If you happened to miss the Grammy’s on Sunday, I got your back. Here are my highlights from New York City’s night of glitz, glamour, and gold.

BEST PERFORMACEKendrick Lamar180128194233-01-grammy-show-2018-exlarge-169

I’ve seen Kendrick live a few times, and every time I’m blown away by the amount of symbolism and artistry he puts into his shows. His “satire” of America last night was the most memorable hands down, from the all male dancers to his powerful visuals.

BEST DRESSEDHailee Steinfeld

UH HUH HONEY. Her glam squad really went IN on this look. I’m living for the dramatic tan against white and bold turquoise eyes complimented by soft waves. 10/10 from me.

HIT FAST FORWARDLittle Big Townlittle-big-town-grammy-awards-performance-better-man-2018

I’m far from a country hater, but this performance was a snooze. Instead check out the performance by Maren Morris, Eric Church, & Brother’s Osborne honoring the victims of Las Vegas. Goosebumps just thinking about it.

I’M STILL LAUGHING ATBlue Ivy

I about died when the camera panned to Blue telling her parents to pipe it down. I know she’s only 6, but I feel compelled to listen to her too. Jay’s lookin like he’s about to get grounded for the next week.

BIGGEST LETDOWNSZA Snubbed

1280-sza-grammys-2018-GettyImages-911505198The Love Galore singer was nominated for FIVE Grammy’s and didn’t take home a single one. She may be my favorite new artist. I have so much respect for her breaking through at 28. Which is like… 57 in Hollywood years. I recommend: Broken Clocks.

I’M SHOOKGaga’s Pianolady-gaga-afp_650x400_81517196572A solid white grand piano adorned with angel wings featuring a coutured Gaga may be the single most elegant sight I’ve ever seen.

EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUTKesha

kesha2

She’s come a long way from the “Ke$ha” you knew in 2010. Her song “Praying” documents the abusive relationship between her and former producer Dr. Luke. If you want to feel inspired, check out the performance that brought her to tears.

GET THIS MAN A WAGONBruno MarsBruno-Mars

I’d like to imagine the recording academy meets him backstage after with a SICK lil red Radio Flyer that he throws them all into, and drags around all the after parties. Congrats on being the night’s big winner, Bruno!
