The Grammys have come and gone, and social media has been in an uproar since. This year, there have been many artists who were recognized who have built strong community support via the internet or the TikTok app. One of those artists is Ms. Charli XCX with her #BRAT Summer Movement. Capturing the internet by storm in June of 2024, Charli XCX demonstrated her unforgettable stage presence at The 67th Grammy Awards.

The #BRAT Summer Movement was a movement that went viral on Tik Tok this past year. You remember seeing it. The “lime-neon green” aesthetic was everywhere. Phone cases, baby tees, trucker hats, billboards… It was like lime-neon green throw up wherever you looked. Charli and her team marketed the album so well, it was what anyone was associating with that “lime-neon green”.
And the girlies and gays were EATING IT UP. You were either “#BRAT” or you weren’t. Simple as that. This all happened just in time — prior to the album releasing, and for a while after is release.
Charli XCX redefined what it means to truly be a “#BRAT” in this generation. Embodying an updated version of the “tumblr indie sleaze” coupled with Y2K, you get Charli XCX.
The BRAT Empire is Growing
The TikTok edit demons have already gotten to work, editing videos and compilations of the best performances and interviews. Our TikTok comedians are doing their thing, imitating our favorite celebrities at the biggest music event of the year.
