Dim Mak and ICON Collective Team Up For An Epic Takeover

After a four-year hiatus, Dim Mak and ICON Collective have rejoined forces for an unforgettable Takeover event. ICON Collective is responsible for their aid and involvement with developing extremely talented artists in the world of dance music. Founded by superstar Steve Aoki, Dim Mak Records are known for their groundbreaking releases in electronic dance music. I got to experience the music as well as the pre-party panel.

Pre-Party Panel

Before the party began, a pre-show panel got the night rolling. Industry insiders along with guests from ICON and Dim Mak took the time to share their wisdom and enlighten the audience with their experiences in the music business. It was a wonderful way to give back to a community of people in the process of pursuing their passion for music. In addition to this, ICON and Dim Mak partnered with the LA Mission collecting clothing and school supplies for the youth. The charitable spirit of the event truly set the tone to celebrate the return of Takeover.

Non stop party

The party at 1720 Warehouse was full of nonstop music. The audience danced to a variety of EMD all night with an opening set by Odd Language. Surprise Icon Collective alumni took to the stage throughout the night and showcased their killer talent. One of those alumni on the bill was HONÜ, who graduated from ICON back in 2019. The infectious energy that came with each set made the night feel like a celebration of the talent and success that Dim Mak and ICON have harvested over the past several years. As the night came to a close, Sqishi delivered a high energy set that had the whole crowd moving.

The first Takeover in over four years was truly one to remember. The combined forces of Dim Mak and ICON Collective excelled at giving back to the community. Both continue to support and foster talent that many have grown to know and love. The party following the panel was the perfect way to celebrate all the achievements that have come from ICON and Dim Mak.

Will you be at the next Takeover?
