Why Going To Hard Summer Is An Easy Decision

As an LA local I had the pleasure of attending Hard Summer back in 2019. My friends and I loaded up the car and drove down to Fontana, with full Camelbaks and plenty of sunscreen. It’s an easy one hour drive and a perfectly central location for the major cities of SoCal to link. Hosted at the Auto Club Speedway, the venue provides plenty of space for three massive stages, art installations, food, and merchandise. Don’t let the high summer temperatures deter you, as there are plenty of cool down tents and water refill stations. The real heat comes from the line up! 2019 headliners included Kid Cudi, Major Lazer, and even the late Juice Wrld.

After an amazing experience in 2019, I decided Hard Summer would be a must in 2020. But we all know how last year went down. After almost two whole years of patiently waiting, fans are ready to rage in Fontana. Insomniac absolutely delivered with a fire and diverse line up. Something that sets Hard apart from many of Insomniacs other events is the inclusion of rap music.

Diversity

Rap artists on the line up include heavy hitters like Future and 2 Chainz. After a long day of EDM, it’s always nice to switch up the sound. Especially when you can dance to hits from some of the biggest names in hip hop. Just imagine “It’s a Vibe” performed live on stage, sun setting, beer in hand… I’m there.

POP UPS

Speaking of beer, one of the highlights of my 2019 experience had to be the Corona stage. It is a small stage but it’s bursting with energy, and some of the best sets of the weekend. The Corona Electric Beach is brought to you by the iconic beer, and brings all the tropical summer vibes you’ve been looking for. Make a pit stop here as you transition from stage to stage, you will not regret it!

Food & Beverage

When it comes to food, you are in good hands here. With temperatures creeping up into the high 90s and even the 100s, it is crucial to stay fed and hydrated. Hard offers six different food tents with tons of options for all. For those of us 21+ there is also a bar to pair with each food station. I can vividly remember eating a hot dog that seemed like it saved my life, but that was probably just the heat talking.

Whether you are a SoCal local or traveling from afar, I can promise Hard Summer is worth the trip. This year’s line up includes EDM legends Rezz, Kaytranada, Dillon Francis, and R.L. Grime just to name a few. With a killer line up, delicious food, and the summer sun- I just can’t see anyone having a bad time. I know I’ll be there basking in all the glorious energy, we hope to see you too. Buy tickets here!
