Nicki Minaj, Maluma, and Myriam Join Forces On New World Cup Anthem

It’s the FIFA World Cup season! To commemorate the beginning of the tournament in Qatar in 2022, Nicki Minaj, Maluma, and Myriam Fares have collaborated on a high-energy single titled “Tukoh Taka.” The latest track has been deemed the “Official FIFA Fan Festival Anthem.” The track features a combination of three different languages, English, Spanish, and Arabic.

This track moves quickly and scores the goal! Around the electric hook, Minaj raps about a girl’s night out (with some soccer references for FIFA fans). Maluma intones about scoring the winning goal in the 90th minute of the game. The beat pulsates with the amplitude of the tournament that the song’s meant to celebrate.

Following the release of “Tukoh Taka,” Maluma and Myriam expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to be apart of the song.

“I am so happy to be part of this FIFA World Cup anthem! I always dreamt of an opportunity like this.” “Representing Latin music on this global track alongside amazing artists that sing in English and Arabic, takes our culture to another level.”

‘Tukoh Taka’, the song that I was honored to participate in its composition, arrangement, and choreography, made me more passionate about it, in addition to working alongside two of my favorite international artists, Nicki Minaj and Maluma.” She went on, “I truly wish that ‘Tukoh Taka’ will be transmitting the Eastern culture and Arabian music to the whole world.”

The music video for “tukoh taka”

Alongside the release of “Tukoh Taka,” an official music video was released on the FIFA YouTube page. The video kicks off with the trio in the desert, alluding to Qatar’s arid nature. Minaj begins the song’s first verse with Spanish and English verses. She arrives on a bus full of revelers waving their national flags.

Myriam Fares, a Lebanese singer, joins the celebration, surrounded by a slew of dancers rocking to her Arabic lines and the infectious chorus. Maluma appears in a bright desert music festival outfit for his verses.

Clips of players celebrating goals, including players from Maluma’s native nation, are spliced between the performances.

FIFA WORLD CUP 2022

the tournament’s soundtrack will include a multi-song collection including foreign musicians “showcasing varied musical styles that span the world, setting the tone for a truly global celebration.”
