HOW lIL WAYNE INFLUENCED MINAJ’S CAREER AND HER RECORD LABEL
Minaj’s longtime friend and music partner, Lil Wayne, has had a major impact on her career according to the artists. Because of Wayne, she plans to do the same for upcoming artists.
Minaj also discussed Lil Wayne’s early influence on her career and how she wants to emulate the impact of up-and-coming musicians on her company.
“When I first got into this game, I didn’t have any paperwork with Lil Wayne. But he had us on tour, in the studio, and he was getting on my mixtapes,” she explained. “I comprehend the value of having someone else do the hard work for you. I understand why people are coming here, but they’re so, you know, microwaveable, and they’re here today and gone tomorrow because there’s no framework. There is no one who truly believes in them. ‘Actually, I’m going to make it my job to see you flourish,’ he says.NICKI MINAJ ON LIL WAYNE’S IMPACT
ARE YOU EXCITED TO HEAR WHAT MINAJ’S LABEL WILL BRING?
Nicki Minaj has a long history of experimentation, both in terms of her appearance and her persona, as well as her commercial endeavors. So, it shouldn’t be too shocking that the Grammy-nominated, number-one-chart-topper is launching her own record label. This is a major steppingstone for Minaj as well as the new upcoming artists signed. As a longtime fan of Nicki Minaj, I have no doubt that her artist will produce some bangers for the years to come.
