Lana Del Rey’s Dad is Dropping an Album?

Lana Del Rey’s dad putting out an album was not on my 2023 bingo card- but here we are! The upcoming debut record from Rob Grant, Lana Del Rey’s father, is titled Lost at Sea. It’s clear that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree between this musical duo. The album features cover art that pays homage to his daughter’s distinctive aesthetic.

A black-and-white picture of Grant with a white bird sitting on his finger and him staring blankly into the distance adorns the record cover. Since Lana Del Rey frequently sings about themes of peace, freedom, and purity, the decision to use black and white photos with a dove could be read as a reference to these ideals.

The album title Lost at Sea, and Grant’s name are both written in a typeface that is evocative of that found on numerous of Lana Del Rey’s album artwork. Rob Grant’s music and his daughter’s music are obviously related, as they both use very identical fonts. This makes sense, given the impact Lana Del Rey has had on her dad’s success.

Lana Del Rey assisted in the recording of her father’s debut album. She will be featured on two tracks titled “Lost at Sea” and “Hollywood Bowl.” The fact that the father and daughter duo worked on these two songs together speaks volumes about their bond and their shared love of music.

Even though the album’s artwork looks like it could have been done by Lana Del Rey, the music inside is rumored to be more traditional in the classical music genre. Different from Lana Del Rey’s usual hazy, sad vibe. Nonetheless, “Lost at Sea” will undoubtedly thrill admirers of both Lana Del Rey and classical music.

For both Rob Grant and Lana Del Rey’s legions of devoted admirers, the album’s arrival marks a watershed moment. The artist’s daughter served as a creative inspiration for him. This album provides a chance to compare and contrast his sound with that of his daughter.

LOST AT SEA IS SET TO BE RELEASED JUNE 9TH.

Grant’s debut record is a big deal for both him and the individuals who adore his daughter’s music. It’s also sweet to see the flip in the usual parent child dynamic. She has been a significant inspiration in her father’s musical career. It’s sweet to see a daughter embrace her father’s dreams, and a father willing to let his daughter guide.

Fans of Lana Del Rey can expect that Grant’s music will be stylistically distinct from that of the artist. However, they can also anticipate a fresh and thrilling vibe, thanks to the father-daughter dynamic they’ve tapped into for this record. I’m excited to see how their unique sounds blend together.

Mic Drop Music is looking forward to the release of Lost at Sea, are you?!
